Environment and habitats:
Situated on the edge of the Northern Tablelands, altitude 370 metres. A large partially cleared garden with some bird attracting plantings, surrounded by tropical rainforest and other large gardens including a small dam. The area is dissected by numerous perennial and seasonal creeks.
Climate: Wet tropical. Temperatures are moderated due to altitude.

Situated on coast between Mossman and Daintree at an altitude of 40 metres.
A large garden with some bird attracting plantings.
Adjacent habitats include:
·       lowland tropical rain forest
·       large partially cleared gardens
·       sugar cane fields
·       cattle pasture paddocks
·       freshwater creeks with riparian forest
·       saltwater creeks fringed with mangrove forest
·       littoral zone with both sand, mud and rocky foreshores
Climate: Wet tropical. Mean average temperatures degrees C; day 29.0, night 20.8.
Mean average rainfall 2,031 mm, 70% falling in the monsoon December to April.
